Make Your Window

Cowley Road Works kicked off the festive season with ‘Windows of Kindness’ and ‘stained glass windows’ in the community for Oxford’s Christmas Lights Festival.

We supported local schools and community groups, including St Frideswide Primary School and with craft packs with everything they needed to get making. These images (see right) show the amazing work of the CDI Clockhouse Project for over 50s in Greater Leys.

Using just tissue paper, black card and some scissors and glue the most amazing creations can be made. What will your window show? You could print one of our templates and share a symbol of hope with your neighbours. Or maybe you want to share a kindness mantras, or a picture of a kindness you have witnessed in 2020? You can even make a series of windows which light up and share a larger message.

Windows of Kindness were created by the Roarsomes, a collective of young disabled artists who want to spread a message of kindness and hope in a year which has been very tough for the community. Click here to find out more about the project.
