Make a Buff-Tailed Bumblebee
Find out about insects from Chris Jarvis, bug expert at the University of Oxford’s Museum of Natural History. Then make this beautiful buzzy buff-tailed bumblebee with Community Artist, Groovy Su.
The bee is made from waste materials you will have around the house. We recommend that you look at the films and gather your materials before you start. Take a look at the list below and you will probably find that you do have most of them. If you don’t have exactly the same things that Su has used – you can substitute with other items that you do have.

As soon as you can, remember to go and see the insect collection in the Natural History Museum in Oxford.
This project was first created for the pupils as St Gregory the Great Catholic School, just off Cowley Road where Carnival is based – but we hope that lots of you will try it too.
Thanks to Groovy Su and Chris Jarvis from the Museum of Natural History.
